True Volunteer World

True Volunteer World is a new and exciting programme that will enable individuals to volunteer at various places around the world. The Programme will allow True Volunteers to participate at TVF project locations across the globe. Whilst the programme will benefit TVF’s projects and beneficiaries, it also aims to support the aspirations and growth of True Volunteers via ‘empowerment through education’.

The initial country for this project is Sri-Lanka where True Volunteer Foundation has established numerous projects.There are many opportunities for volunteers to undertake projects such as working with children, micro-financing, sewing centres, community-based projects and working on farms.

True Volunteering in Sri-Lanka is vastly different from other volunteering programmes. It is not a commercial programme with creature comforts. Working as a volunteer for TVF in Sri-Lanka requires personal commitment and individual responsibility, and setting targets and goals in order to achieve the desired outcome. Comfort zones can be very few and challenges many. You may encounter frustrating language problems (some schools have no English) and you may have to work alone in difficult situations. This is not a traditional volunteer programme, but we believe that finding your own potential can be a rewarding and life-changing experience. So a Sri-Lanka Project Manager will initially direct you, give you advice and provide relevant connections and tasks, and then the rest is up to you!

TVF has projects in 28 countries impacting over 110,000 people. These projects are managed by 108 True Volunteers, who hail from 48 different countries. TVF is an international non-governmental organisation in every sense of the word. TVF manages its international operations from its London offices, where the majority of True Volunteers are based. However, many True Volunteers work remotely from across the British Isles and countries as far afield as the Philippines and China.
